Name : World AIDS Day Celebration
Date : 02-12-2024
Venue : Community Health Centre Bhange Noida
On December 2nd 2024, Metro College of Nursing organised a significant awareness program in observance of World AIDS Day. This year's theme, "Take the Right Path: My Health, My Right," highlighted the importance of health awareness and the empowerment of individuals, especially youth, regarding HIV prevention and safe sexual practices.
As part of the initiative, the students creatively utilised Nukkad Natak to engage the community and disseminate crucial information about HIV/AIDS. This interactive approach aimed not only to educate but also to challenge and change the stigma associated with the disease. They effectively conveyed important messages through vibrant performances that emphasised the do's and don’ts related to safe practices and treatment options for those living with HIV.
In addition to the performance, students also created informative posters and placards that highlighted safe sexual practices, the importance of regular testing, and the need for supportive environments for those affected by HIV/AIDS. The visuals served as powerful reminders of the actions individuals can take to protect themselves and others.
The awareness program successfully fostered an environment of open dialogue about HIV, encouraging attendees to seek knowledge, break down taboos, and advocate for their health rights.
