National Voter’s day is celebrated all over the country every year since 2011 to mark the Foundation day of Election Commission of India. The main purpose of the national voter’s day celebration is to encourage, facilitate and maximise the enrolments, especially for the new young voters
Metro College of Health Sciences and Research celebrated voter’s day in the college premises on 24th January 2020. All the faculty and students participated in this event enthusiastically.
The event started with the address by Dr.KanakLata, Director of Education, that national voter’s day is being celebrated for the young voters who are going to vote for the first time. Madam stressed that voting was the way of expression of opinion and brings change for the better
It was followed by oath taking ceremony in which all the teaching and non-teaching Faculty and the students have participated and took a pledge that ¬“voting is not only our right but also our need and duty”.
A painting competition has also held on the theme ¬–no voter to be left behind. Mr.Bhim Singh and Ms.Seema bagged the first position and Ms.Neha got the second position.
The programme end with a message that voting is the tool of transformation and everyone who has it must use it for the welfare of all.
