The orientation program for the newly admitted undergraduate students of General Nursing and Midwifery and Paramedical Science was organized on 7th, 9th and 12th December 2020. Students and their parents were formally welcomed and introduced to the culture of the School, campus and University.
The dignitaries present on the occasion were Honorable Dr Kanak Lata (Director of Education), Prof. Praniti Barua (Principal Metro College of Nursing), Prof. Dr. Surendra Lalwani (Principal College of Pharmacy), Mr Gaurav Sethi (Head-Human Resource).
Mr Mahesh Singh Rajput (Programme coordinator- GNM programme), Mrs Shivani Rai Sharma (Class Coordinator-GNM I year), Ms. Gurjinder Kaur (Class coordinator – ANM I Year), Mr. Ishwar Pathania (Programme coordinator – Paramedical Science) and all class co-coordinators were also present. Student Volunteers of senior batch also helped to carry out this activity.
The Programme began with a brief inaugural ceremony marked by Lamp Lighting at our MCHSR Auditorium by all dignitaries. The welcome address was delivered by Principal Prof. Praniti Barua. She emphasized the importance of nobility and dedication in the profession.
Honorable Director Dr Kanak Lata enlightened the students by her powerful message and making the student aware that Metro College of Nursing and Paramedical Science is focusing on not only preparing nursing professionals but dedicated Nurses who will be a great asset for India as well as countries abroad
The orientation programme continued with an introduction of all dignataries by Ms. Fahima Khan, Ms. Sarita and Mrs Ranjitha D’Souza and message by them. Prof. Dr.Surendra Lalwani (Principal College of Pharmacy), Mr Gaurav Sethi (Head-Human Resource).
The students were also briefed about Metro Group of Hospitals and were introduced to Founder of Metro Group of Hospitals Dr Purshottam Lal Padma Bhushan,Padma Vibhushan & Dr BC Roy National award Recepient stake holders. They were introduced virtually to Dr Sonia Lal Gupta Managing Director of MCHSR.
As part of the orientation the new students were introduced to various programmes offered by Metro College of Nursing and the various scopes available for them.
During the orientation, the most heart touching event was the distribution of Bags with Books and stationary items. These kits were distributed by all Dignitaries and Programme and class coordinators. Students and parents were invited to come forward and were explained that this was symbolic of transfer of knowledge from Teacher to students and the whole Institute as a team will be there with the students right from the orientation day to help them to achieve their goals. This event was aimed to imbibe a sense of commitment and responsibility of the students for the course they are admitted to.
Programme concluded with vote of thanks by Programme coordinators and faculties.
