Prof.Pravin Prakash, Principal, Metro College of Nursing, hosted a faculty development session on Kangaroo mother care from 2:15 pm to 4:15 pm on Tuesday, July 22.
The welcome talk and introduction of the resource person were given at the beginning of the event by Mrs. Shivani Rai, AssoProf. and FDP Coordinator MCN.
Principal MCN Prof.Pravin Prakash explained the subject.
13 faculty members in all attended the workshop
Four stations made up the training curriculum.
Breast selfexamination was station 1, breast milk expression was station 2, breast feeding positions were station 3, and kangaroo mother care was station 4.
Breastfeeding positions were highlighted by Prof.Pravin Prakash, who also demonstrated each position.
Prof Pravin Prakash further focused on how to prepare a KMC bag in community setting. All the members effectively learnt and practiced the same.
The programme was closed with a vote of thanks , thanking the Master trainer Prof Pravin Prakash. Further he motivated the trainers to train more and more students nurses which will help in promoting kangaroo mother care in practice.
