Metro College of Health Sciences and Research had celebrated National voters Day on 25th January, 2021. In order to encourage more young voters to take part in the political process, Government of India has decided to celebrate January 25 every year as "National Voters' Day". It has been started from 26 January 2011 to mark Commission's foundation day. The day is observed to spread awareness about the importance of voting in a democracy and it also educates people about their voting rights. However, the main objective of the day is to educate and encourage young voters to vote during elections. As a part of celebration MCHSR had organized various events viz: poster competition, speech and pledge ceremony on the importance of voting and educates people about their voting rights. The theme for this year is NVD, “Making our voters Empowered, Vigilant, Safe and informed”, envisage active and participative voters during elections. The main purpose of the NVD celebration is to encourage facilitates and maximizes enrolment, especially for the new voters. Session was hosted by Mr. Sagar Kumar, Assistant professor. Our honorable director mam Dr. Kanak Lata encouraged the students about voting, how one can make a change by voting. In speech competition Kumar Udbhav, Kanak Tiwari, Sanjeeta Oberai B.Pharm 1st year students participated actively and presented their reviews on the right to vote is considered a. "fundamental" right.
Vote of thanks was given by Mr. Sagar Kumar, Assistant Professor, MCHSR to all especially to Dr. Sonia Lal Gupta, MD, MCHSR, Dr. Kanak Lata, Director education for support to organize the program. Vote of thanks was also conveyed to Principal Dr. Surendra Lalwani and Vice-principal and all faculty members of MCHSR the eminent faculty members for organizing the session and to make this event a successful.
