“Fresher’s Day” in any college is an event which every student eagerly awaits from their time of admission. The fresher’s day is filled with excitement, joy, music, enthusiasm, laughter and happiness. Metro College of Health Sciences & Research, organized a Fresher’s Party on 13th May 2022 to welcome the new batch of B.PHARM (2021-25) & D.PHARM (2021-23). The fresher’s day was named as “ROCKING FIESTA” thus celebrating individuality and distinctiveness. The theme also aimed to encourage students to explore their passion and calling in life. The purpose of the Fresher’s Party was to make every new student feel connected as an integral part of the MCHSR family and be ready to take on the challenges of the year ahead and to welcome new students in a friendly atmosphere and to encourage their creative impulses to boost their confidence. It is the day where seniors and juniors finally bond and unite to celebrate being part of the college.
The celebration started at 10:00 a:m at the Pharmacy Seminar Hall. The program began with the auspicious lamp lighting ceremony and by performing the Ganesh Vandana .The occasion was graced by the presence of Dr. Kanak Lata, Director - Education, Dr. Praveen Kumar Gaur (Principal), Dr. Sameer Rastogi (Vice-principal), Mr. Gaurav Sethi (HR & Admin), Prof Pravin Prakash (Principal-MCN), Prof Sneha Mathew (Dean Student Welfare- MCN) and all faculty members. The program was hosted by Dr. Niharika Lal (Associate Prof.), Ms. Garima Raj (Asst. Prof.), Ms. Diksha, Ms. Chestha, Ms. Priya from B.Pharm 3rd year and Ms. Sanjeeta and Mr. Anuj from B.Pharm 2nd year. The program was initiated with the blessing of our respected MD , Dr. Sonia Lal Gupta. She encouraged the students to take part in various activities apart from academics. She also emphasized about the true meaning of cultural events as well as teamwork which is required for such event organization. The Director Madam addressed the first year with her esteemed words of wisdom and encouraged them to excel in all spheres of life.
Freshers along with their seniors got chance to showcase their talent by a stunning Ramp walk, drama, various dance performances like solo, Duo, Group dances, singing, mimicry, poetry and motivational speech. Later small games were organized to make the function more tricky and fun. Refreshments were served in between the program.
During party, various competitions were organised and panel of judges comprising of Dr.Kanak Lata, Director-Education, MCHSR & Dr, Sameer Rastogi, Vice-principal, MCHSR selected the successful winners amongst the contestants. The selection of Mr. and Ms. Fresher was based on the introduction given, Outfit, Overall Appearance, Talent round, Task given and final “Questionnaire Round”. The contestants had to prove that they were persons with beauty and brains and had the presence of mind and confidence to not only give the correct answers but also to communicate their thoughts properly and effectively and winners were as follows :

• Mr. Spark: Mr.Himanshu (B.Pharm-II year)
• Ms. Spark: Ms.Komal (B.Pharm-II year)
• Mr. Personality: Mr.Aatish (B.Pharm-I year)
• Ms. Personality: Ms.Pooja (B.Pharm-II year)
• Mr. Extra-ordinary: Mr.Naveen (B.Pharm-II year)
• Ms. Extra-ordinary: Ms.Khushboo (B.Pharm-II year), Ms.Jyoti ( B.Pharm-I year)
All the winners were awarded by the Dr. Kanak Lata, Director- Education, MCHSR and it was a great moment for all the winners. Further the winner certificates of National Pharmacy Week were distributed by Dr. Kanak Lata, Director- Education, Dr. Praveen Kumar Gaur (Principal), Dr. Sameer Rastogi (Vice-principal).
At the end, it was for the freshers and seniors to rock the fresher party by tapping their feet on peppy musical tracks. Overall the event was a grant success and a happy moment for MCHSR family.
Vote of Thanks
Vote of thanks was given by Ms. Chestha from B.Pharm 3rd year to all especially to the Honorable Management of MCHSR, Dr. Sonia Lal Gupta, Managing Director Madam and Dr. Kanak Lata, Director-Education for their support to organize the program. Vote of thanks was also conveyed to Dr. Praveen Kumar Gaur (Principal), Dr. Sameer Rastogi (Vice-principal), members of cultural committee, participants and all teaching and non-teaching staff members of MCHSR organizing the session and to make this event successful
