“CURRENT CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN PHARMA SECTOR”
Metro College of Health Sciences & Research (Pharmacy) organized aCareer Guidance and Training Session on “Current Career Opportunities in Pharma Sector” on 21st December 2022 for the students. The objective of the session was to address various career opportunities in Pharma Sector, challenges & opportunities for pharmacy professionals and planning for their career in the pharmaceutical industry.
The program was organizedwith the support and encouragement of honorable Dr. Sonia Lal Gupta, MD - MCHSR, Metro Group of Hospitals andDr. Kanak Lata, Director-Education in the presence of the dignitaries,Dr. Praveen Kumar Gaur, Principal, MCHSR, Dr. Krishna Kumar Verma, Vice-Principal MCHSR, Mr. Gaurav Sethi, Head HR-Admin MCHSR, faculty members and students.
The Guest Speaker (Dr. Puneet Gupta) is a CEC member to Indian Pharmaceutical Association (UP State branch) and Indian Hospital Pharmacists' Association. He has an experience of about 13 years in Pharmaceutical Education and has organized various National/International Conferences/Seminar/FDPs across India. His research scholars are working in reputed top notch Govt. organizations like ICMR, CSIR-CIMAP (Lucknow), CSIR-NIO (Goa), Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (Ghaziabad) as SRF & project members. He has been also awarded with Research Project from Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India for development of Anticancer Formulation.
The program commenced at 11:00 am with the guest introduction by Ms. SakshiMinocha(Assistant Professor), MCHSR. The webinar was conducted in the gracious presence of Honorable Principal Dr. Praveen Gaur.
In his talk, the speaker emphasized on Artificial Intelligence, Drug discovery, Pharma Industry (4 Industries Revolution), Career opportunities in Pharmacy, Importance of industrial training for students, Third party manufacturing and many more things. The speaker also emphasized that the students must have a strong knowledge in technical skills, communication skills and keen practice on the job for continuous grasp of knowledge and comprehension. He explained different opportunities in Pharmaceutical Industries i.e. number of departments to work in, their respective roles in the industry and the skills required for the students. He also explained that pharmacy graduates can cater to the needs of various departments in the industry such as production, quality control etc however in the new age pharmaceutical industry, they need to acquire management skills in addition to core technical knowledge.
It was a very informative and interactive session where all the students participated enthusiastically.This webinar was followed by a Q&A session which was organized in an interactive and open discussion manner.
