Metro College of Health Sciences & Research (Pharmacy)organized a grand program on the occasionof “73rd Republic Day” on 26/01/22.While India gained independence from the British Raj in 1947, it wasn't until January 26, 1950 that the Indian Constitution came into effect and India became a sovereign state declaring it a republic.To mark the significance of this day, we have dedicated this day as“Tribute our National Hero”with immense patriotic fervour and zeal through online mode via MS Team. A large number of students were present along with staff and faculty members to mark this event and they are filled with a feeling of patriotism and dedication.Event was conducted in the gracious presence of Honourable Principal Dr. Praveen Kumar Gaur and Vice-principal Dr.Sameer Rastogi.The programcommenced at 11:00 am.It was followed by the official Inaugration of “73rdRepublic Day” by Dr.Niharika Lal (Associate Professor), MCHSR where she highlighted importance of Consitution of India. Thecelebration was followed withtheceremony of hoistingthe Indian National Flagfollowed by singing the National Anthem.Many students also performed different types of programs.Republic day competitions including Speech,Quiz, Poster making,Essay writing and Patriotic song were conducted for the students.All the students participated in the event voluntarily and participantswere highly appreciated for their active participation.
It was very interactive event with a good response from students. Team MCHSR arranged various competitionsto develop inner skills among students.The celebration ended with the proper steps for pandemic protection.

Year-Ist position), second position as a tie between Manisha (B.Pharm 4th Year) and Abhishek K. Saini (B.Pharm 1st Year) and Ankush (B.Pharm 1st Year-IIIrd position).
Speech
Topic for speech competition was“Social Issues prevailing Currently in India”. Here the students highlighted the various issuse regarding illiteracy,corruption,education system etc.Students enthusiastically shared their views in Hindi and English.In this event, Cheshta (B.Pharm 3rd year) and Akshat(B.Pharm 1st Year) got 1st and 2nd prize respectively.

The main aim of this event was to analyze the knowledge of students regarding the purpose of Republic Day Celebrationand general awareness.The event was conducted via Google form.Winners for the quiz were Anurag Pnadey (B.Pharm 1st Year-Ist position), Deepanshu Aggarwal (B.Pharm 1st Year-IInd position), Cheshta Singh (B.Pharm 3rd year-IIIrd position).
Poster
Students showed their creativity by preparing various posters.Students made beautiful posters with different colors representing themeof the “Tribute to National Heroes”.The

Topic for Essay writing competiton was “Our Nation Our Pride”.AnuragPandey(B.Pharm 1st Year), Bhavna Sharma (B.Pharm 4th Year) and Deepanshu Aggarwal (B.Pharm 1st Year) got1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
All the events turned to be a great success and made the day for many students and staff realizing the importance of the Republic day and need to celebrate it.The participants were very happy to participate in the event and the program received wonderful response.

Vote of thanks was given by Dr.NiharikaLal,Associate Professor,MCHSR to all especially to the Honorable Dr. Sonia Lal Gupta, Managing Director,MCHSR and Dr. Kanaklata, Director of Education for their support to organize the program.
