Metro college of health sciences & research has organized the hospital visit for D. Pharm. students on 9 February 2021. Dr. Kanika Kanwar (Dept. DMO) addressed the students and showered the blessings to the students for bright future. Mr. Rajeev Tyagi (Pharmacy head), and Mr. Jagan Kumar arranged the visit on each floor of the hospital personally and explained each and everything about the different departments of the hospital. There are 6 floors in the hospital. First floor deals with ICU & OT department, II floor deals with Pediatrics, labor and Neuroscience, III floor deals with diseases related to Respiratory system, IV floor deals with liver & gastro related diseases, V floor is general ward. Ground floor deals with Emergency ward and basement consists of OPD & IPD.
Mr. Navneet Kumar and Mohd. Aslam (Pharmacy in charge) explained about the working of OPD & IPD Pharmacy of the hospital to the students. Mr. Chaudhary explained the various dosage forms which were available in the drug store of both OPD and IPD and various channels involving to the drug distribution from central store to the patient. Mr. Aslam asked many questions from students eg. Which drug cause drug interaction with milk? and what are the diuretics? Students answered all the asked questions quickly. Mr. Chaudhary said that pharmacist plays an important role and he/she is the heart of hospital as they interact with doctors, nurses, drug supplier, medical representatives etc. He also explained the same sound and same looking medicines but different contents wise. Storage of medicines explained in a better ways with examples i.e on room temperature should be 25o C and 2-5o belongs to deep freezer. Special thanks to Dr. Kanika Kanwar and Dr. Kanak Lata, Director Education for her efforts to make this visit successful. All the students were actively participated along with Principal Dr. Surendra Lalwani and staff members, Mr. Rahul Kumar, Ms. Rashmi Singh and Ms. Komal Bhati.
