Metro College of Health Sciences & Research (Pharmacy) organized an Expert talk on “Diverse Prospects for Pharmacy Students in Industry: Opportunities and Challenges” on 02nd May 2022 in collaboration with Immacule Life Sciences Pvt Ltd, Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh. The Guest Speaker for the session was Mr. Neeraj Bhardwaj, who is currently designated as the Assistant General Manager-Production (Injectables), Immacule Life Sciences Pvt Ltd, Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh.
Mr. Neeraj Bhardwaj has significant experience in Pharma Industry. He has worked as Deputy Manager-Production in Nectar Life sciences Ltd. He also held a position as a Manager-Production in Shilpa Medicare and as a Manager Production (Injectable) at Mylan Laboratories. Currently He is working as Assistant General Manager-Production (Injectables), Immacule Life Sciences Pvt Ltd, Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh.
The programme commenced at 11:00 am with the guest introduction by Ms. Garima Raj (Assistant Professor), MCHSR. The webinar was conducted in the gracious presence of Honourable Principal Dr. Praveen Gaur.
The aim of the guest lecture was to address various challenges & opportunities for pharmacy professionals planning for their career in the Pharmaceutical industry. In his talk, the speaker emphasized on Drug discovery, Pharma Industry, Career opportunities in Pharmacy and many more things. The speaker also emphasized that the students must have a strong knowledge in technical skills, communication skills and keen practice on the job for continuous grasp of knowledge and comprehension. He explained different opportunities in Pharmaceutical Industries i.e. number of departments to work in, their respective roles in the industry and the skills required for the students. He also explained that pharmacy graduates can cater to the needs of various departments in the industry such as production, quality control etc but in the new age pharma industry, they need to acquire management skills in addition to core technical knowledge.
Students attended the talk in seminar hall, keeping in mind the social distancing due to Covid protocol. It was a very informative and interactive session where students came to know about the career choices and participated enthusiastically. The deliberations were well taken by the participants. This webinar was followed by a Q&A session which was organized in an interactive and open discussion manner.
Vote of thanks was given by Ms. Monika Setia, Assistant Professor, MCHSR to all especially to the Honorable Dr. Sonia Lal Gupta, MD, MCHSR and Dr. Kanak Lata, Director of Education for their support in organizing the program. Vote of thanks was also conveyed to Dr. Praveen Kumar Gaur (Principal) and Dr.Sameer Rastogi (Vice-principal), Scientific Committee members and all teaching and non-teaching staff members of MCHSR for organizing the session and for making this event successful.
Event was successfully closed with presenting a token of appreciation, a memento to our guest of honour Mr. Neeraj Bhardwaj by Dr. Kanak Lata, Director of Education, MCHSR.
CONCLUSION:-
The lecture was a great success. It helped students to know about Pharmaceutical industry and prepare themselves for it in suitable manner accordingly.
