Metro college of Health Sciences
& Research has celebrated World Pharmacist’s Day with great zeal and
fervour. Every year on September 25th, Pharmacists around the globe
celebrate World Pharmacists Day. The theme for this year is “Pharmacy united in
action for a healthier world”. This
year’s theme aims to showcase pharmacy’s positive impact on health around the
world and to further strengthen solidarity among the profession. “The United
Nations Sustainable Development Goal number 3 sets out a number of health
targets, including for non-communicable diseases (such as cardiovascular
disease, cancer, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease and mental health) and
communicable diseases (for example, HIV, tuberculosis and neglected tropical
diseases).
The function was started with the message of good wishes from
our honourable MD, Dr.Sonia Lal Guptafollowed by the speech of Director-Education
Dr.Kanak Lata. She highlighted the importance of pharmacist nowadays along with
the role pharmacists played during the pandemic. Pharmacy being a noble
profession was the key point of her speech.
After the completion of the rally,
the students were assembled in the seminar hall for respective events and as
per the scheduled timings, the events were organized.
The first event was the Rangoli
Competition which was co-ordinated by Ms. Preeti Tiwari (Asstt. Professor) and
Ms. Komal Bhati (Asstt. Professor). Many students actively participated in the
event.Chetna & group (D.Pharma 2nd year) were declared winner.
The second event was the poster
presentation which was co-ordinated by Ms. Rehana Parveen (Asstt. Professor),
Dr. Hashim Khan (Asstt. Professor) and Mr. Shashank Tiwari (Asstt. Professor).
The studentsof B. Pharm and D. Pharm came across to participate and winner was
selected by the evaluation of Judges.
In this event, best poster was
adjudged of Anurag (B. Pharm 2n(d year)
The third event was the Model
presentation, which was co-ordinated by Ms. Rashmi Singh (Asstt. Professor) and
Ms. Aditi Saxena (Asstt. Professor). The
students of B. Pharm made models like cyclone separator and sieve
separator and it was evaluated by the judges. The model of Kanak & group (B.
Pharm 3rd year)was announced winner.
The fourth event was the Assay
Writing competition which was co-ordinated by Mrs Nidhi Srivastava (Associate
Professor) and Mr. Raju Singh (Asstt. Professor). The students wrote the
factual assays related to the theme of the event. This event was won by Anurag
(B. Pharm 2nd year).
The last event of the day was Quiz
competition which was conducted by Mrs Sakshi Minocha (Asstt. Professor), Ms
Ayesha Parween (Asstt. Professor)and Mr. Aamir Malik (Asstt. Professor). The
topic of the Quiz competition was General Awareness, Subject knowledge and
Picture Identification which was held in 3 different rounds.The winners of Quiz
competition were Harshit & group (B. Pharm 3rd year).
The students were
provided refreshment after the completion of the event. The event was closed by
the speech of Principal Dr. Praveen Gaur and Vice-principal Dr. Sameer Rastogi.
A vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Aditi Saxena.
The event materialized through
tireless contribution and enthusiasm of faculty members and students. We are
thankful to the Management of MCHSR, especially our
Honourable MD-MCHSR Dr. Sonia Lal Gupta and Director-Education MCHSR , Dr. Kanak Lata and Mr.
Jaishankar Mishrafor providing all the
necessary requirements and giving their whole hearted support for the event.
