Metro College of Health Science & Research has organized an industrial visit on 21st November 2022 for B.Pharm 4th year students to SMBJ Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd., Gannaur, Sonipat, Haryana. The objective of this industrial visit was to acquint the students with the industrial setup and help them establish correlation between theoretical and practical knowledge. Practical training constitutes an important part of pharmacy curriculum, being essential for students’ professional advancement. In this regard, the industrial visit, having 40 students was done in guidance of three faculty members Dr. Deepak Kajla, Mr. Shashank Tiwari and Ms. Rashmi Singh.
This training is universally
regarded as a vital component of pharmacy education and is an indicator of the
extent of industry –institute interaction, which is very essential for the
growth of industry as well as for attaining excellence in technical education.
A group of 40 students accompanied
by three faculty visited SMBJ Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd., Gannaur, Sonipat, Haryana, an industry
of well repute. Prior permission from the industry was taken to visit the
Manufacturing, Quality Control and Quality Assurance area.
All the students and faculty
members reached MCHSR campus by 08:30 am and started their journey at 09:00 am
via college bus. Warm welcome was received from Ms. Aarti along with the staff
members. Ms. Aarti had addressed the students and gave brief introduction of SMBJ
Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd.. It has been established
in the year 2017, by Mr. Amit Jain. They are a growing CDMO Pharma company
driven by the cause of spreading health, happiness and humanity. They have
well-qualified and professional team working to cater the needs of Pharma
industry and improving the quality of life. They are committed to deliver
authentic, reliable, affordable and high quality products on time, while
strictly adhering to the quality and hygiene norms of WHO-GMP. It spreads across an area of 450 sq.m. The premises has been built to
suit the cGMP norms. The manufacturing campus is competent to produce the
Liquid orals, Tablets and Capsules. The factory has its own fully equipped laboratory with In-house testing
facilities for the products and also have adequate and competent staff to carry
out the Manufacturing Operations as well as product analysis. They conduct
timely self-inspection and quality audits to detect any shortcomings in the
quality standards and recommend necessary corrective actions.
After this brief introduction of
company, students were divided and proceeded to visit manufacturing unit and
QA- QC wing one by one.
Ms. Aarti told the students that the plant has facilities for
manufacturing of different dosage form i.e. Tablets, Capsules, syrups. She showed each
section to the students starting from warehouse to the packaging section of
each category of products by explaining role of each and every section
separately for the manufacture of various products.
Mr. Ajay guided the students to the QA-QC
department of the plant and take the students to Quality Control Laboratories
which are set up as per cGLP guidelines & having Wet lab, instrumentation,
stability and Microbiology lab with latest and sophisticated instruments. He
explained each and every section and instrument to the students. It provided a
good gain of knowledge to the students which helped them to understand practical
aspect of theory studied in their course work.
After visit there was a vote of
thanks from the faculty member of MCHSR to the Director and Staff member of SMBJ
Pharmaceutical Pvt. Ltd. for their kind hospitality and great cooperation. They
were also presented a memento and letter of thanks on behalf of Prof. Dr. Kanak
Lata, Director Education, MCHSR.
