The orientation program (SAMAVESH 2022-23) was organized by Metro College of Health Sciences & Research for the founder batch of M. Pharm students on 9th December, 2022.
The objective of
the program was to acclimatize the students to the new environment and get them
acquainted with the institution culture. It also familiarizes the students with the institution's rules and
academic requirements, introduces them to their classmates and teaches them
about the other institutional members who will support their journey to
success.
The program was organized with the support and encouragement of honorable Dr. Sonia Lal Gupta, MD MCHSR, Director Metro Group of Hospitals Dr. Kanak Lata, Director-Education, in the presence of the dignitaries, Dr. Praveen K. Gaur, Principal, MCHSR, Prof. Pravin Prakash, Principal MCN, Prof. Sneha Mathew, Dean Student Welfare, Mr. Gaurav Sethi, Head HR-Admin MCHSR, faculty members and students.
Before the orientation, the new students were given a tour of the college campus for acquainting them with the infrastructural facilities provided by the college for comfortable learning experience. The program commenced with a warm welcome to the M.Pharm 1st year students followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Dr. Kanak Lata, Dr. Praveen K. Gaur, Prof. Pravin Prakash, Mr. Gaurav Sethi and other dignitaries. The session was anchored by Dr. Rosaline Mishra & Ms. Sakshi Minocha.
The Director of Education, Dr. Kanak Lata, delivered her welcome speech and emphasized that it was not the events but the attitude that brings success. One third of what constitutes a person is his genetic inheritance; another one third comes from the kind of upbringing he /she receives and the remaining one third from one’s own self. She also stressed the importance of dedication to one’s profession and the need to have proper planning before taking up and implementing any project. She also proposed different measures to nurture students so as to craft a strong footing for their glorious future. She then thanked the board of directors for their vision and guidance.
Kit distributions for the first-year students was commenced by dignitaries and the faculty members honored the special Talents. Dr. Praveen Kumar Gaur in his address to students, emphasized on the better quality of Education and importance of doing Masters. He sought the cooperation and support of the faculties and students for the same. Furthermore, he also requested their whole hearted support so that each student could be provided a holistic education. At last, he expressed his gratitude to the students for having faith and confidence in the institution.
Ms. Sakshi Minocha introduced all the teaching and non-teaching staff to the students. Following that Dr. Deepak Kajla, Head of Examination Cell, briefed the students about the rules and regulations of the examination (Departmental, Sessional and External Exams), regarding academic matters, regarding Training & Placement and requested the students to understand and abide by the institutional rules and norms.
All the new students attended the program with great enthusiasm. A grand spectacles for the day came in form of classical dances and cultural events by B.Pharm 1st and 2nd year students were the high-lights of the day.
This was
followed by the Vote of Thanks by Dr. Rosaline Mishra. The orientation program
ended on a high note with an aim of cultivating our children into blissful,
proficient and ingeniously well-attuned citizens. Overall, it was a productive
session with an aspiration to stride towards a strong partnership. We applaud
and wish the parents and their wards a prosperous and a rewarding year ahead!
