The aspiration of every parent
insists on having a successful and responsible ward, in line with this Metro College of Health Sciences & Research (Pharmacy) has
organized a workshop on Institutional/
Classroom Discipline & behavioral etiquettes on 26thApril 2023 for
the students of Metro college of Health Sciences and Research and Metro college
of Nursing. The objective of the session was to interact with students,
motivate them towards having a positive mindset and attitude.
The program was organized with
the support and encouragement of honorable Dr. Sonia Lal Gupta, MD
MCHSR, Director Metro Group of Hospitals Dr. Kanak Lata,
Director-Education, MCHSR in the presence of the, Dr. Praveen K. Gaur,
Principal, MCHSR, Mr. Pravin Prakash,
Principal MCN, Dr. Krishna Kumar VermaVice-Principal MCHSR, Ms. Sneha Mathew, MCN, Mr.
GauravSethi, Head HR-Admin MCHSR, faculty members and students.
During the session, Dr.Kanak
Lata interacted with the students. She started her speech by addressing the
students as the integral and inherent part of the MCHSR family. She then explained
to them the value of gratitude, forgiveness, empathy and discipline. A student
spends the major phase of their lives ie., the adulthood and paramount part of
the day from sunrise till sunset at a Academic Institution/college so it is
essential for them to have a sense of trust and gratitude towards this temple of knowledge and the Teachers, with
the help of few videos and life experiences she explained how trust and
thankfulness towards our Gurus is essential, for a student’s holistic development.
Madam also emphasized on
the fact that if the student develops the habit of
self-discipline and self-control, it would help them to plan their goals
smoothly in a more focused manner thus bringing in glory and success. Quoting
examples of Sundar Pichai, Satya Nadella and other stalwart Indians shining
abroad, she inspired the students to stretch
his/her ability so that they can enlighten not only the Pharma and Nursing sky,
but other spaces too, with the help of videos the students were enlightened
about the increasing completion not only from peers but AI too.
She concluded by stating that the key to success, is
hard-work and demands unfaltering discipline, self-control. “Our colleges mission is not just to take
admissions but also to make every student disciplined and confident and ready
to face the challenging world.
Dr. Rahul Kaushik,
Discipline committee convenor, then discussed the guidelines related to
discipline in the college campus, he also got opportunity
to brief the college's code of conduct, rules and regulations, he emphasized on
the fact that every students activity must align with the college's values
because actions have consequences and it is extremely essential to maintain a
safe and respectful learning environment.
He also made it clear
that college may choose to involve parents or guardians in the disciplinary
process, particularly if the violation is severe or repeated. They may
communicate with parents through letters, phone calls, or in-person meetings.
MCHSR believes in the
overall development of the students and works hand in hand with the parents in
achieving the same. Overall, the workshop was very informative and interactive and students took part
enthusiastically.
